The plants of the Nile River are very diverse and beautiful. They all must have certain characteristics to adapt to the also diverse climate of the Nile. Some of the flowers that inhabit the Nile are the Lotus, Plume thistle, Chamomile, Blue Egyptian Water Lily (a favorite of our visitors), and Opium Poppy. These flowers usually are found around the shore of the Nile, but water lilies, such as the Egyptian Water Lily, are found floating on water.
Another plant is the Papyrus which is a very helpful plant used to make sailcloth, mating, blankets, ropes, and with the stalks, the people of the Nile River can even make boats! The lower stalk and roots can also be eaten by people. |

ANIMALS-
The animals of the Nile River, on the other hand are not the most diverse. This is because most are reptiles or fish. However, They can be very dangerous to the people that inhabit the Nile River. Just a few of the many animals that live in/around the Nile River are: Nile Crocodiles, hippopotamus, Nile Perch, Tiger Fish, Lung Fish, Cat Fish, Mud Fish, Eels, Soft-Shelled Turtles, Nile Monitors, and many venomous snakes. Most of the animals are in some away dangerous to humans that come in contact with it. For example the Nile Crocodile is considered one of the most dangerous animals in the world and the reason for many humans deaths around the Nile, same goes for the hippopotamus. On the other hand many animals on this list are endangered, for example the soft shelled turtle is at the top of the Top Ten Endangered Turtles list. This means that while these animals can be dangerous if not deadly to humans, well humans can also be dangerous if not deadly to the animals as well.
